The Fear Bubble
For some, fear is jumping out of a plane for the first time and hoping to heck that the bundle of material strapped to your back is going to open before you hit terminal velocity.
For others, it might be potholing and trying to ignore the millions of tons of rock above your head and praying that it holds tight for a little while longer as you squeeze through yet another impossibly tight passageway.
It could even be diving into the nearest loo, slamming the door shut with a cry of joy (and no little relief) only to discover three small squares of non-absorbent loo paper.
For my part, it was the thought of sitting through 70 excruciating minutes of live outdoor theatre, but it is something that my better half loves. So, when duty calls …
(spoiler alert; against all expectations, it was hugely enjoyable)
Fear takes many forms, but the fear of failure is right up there for most of us.
But how to get over it is the £6 million question.
One sure-fire way is to take ourselves out of our comfort zone which allows us to see life’s challenges from a different perspective.
More often than not, those seemingly insurmountable challenges aren’t nearly as daunting as we think.
If the economy really is going gangbusters as the Bank of England say, what better time to roll out a new project, launch a new website or kick off a new mailing campaign which could change our lives immeasurably.
Food for thought, perhaps, this week?
But for now, …
If you want a sounding board or just want to bend my ear, I’m on hand for a chat about anything to do with Print or Web Design.
Stay safe.
