Never change a winning formula …

For some mysterious reason, the tummy-gurgling glee of mid-week suppers outweighs weekend feasts by a country mile.

Maybe it’s got something to do with only eating two dried dog biscuits between breakfast and supper.

But I doubt it.

Because rain or shine, my much better half never fails to put a delectable dish on the table.

And top of the list is Macaroni Cheese. My go-to-heaven dish … every time.

Made to a time-honoured recipe it never fails to thrill the greedy gastronaut in me.

Which was why a terrible chill seized my vitals last night when I heard we were to try a new recipe from one of the Sunday magazines.

Sure, the reviews were tremendous and maybe we were about to elevate an already exalted dish to something akin to ambrosial ecstasy.

But I wasn’t hopeful.

All I can say is that the Sunday Times tasting team must have had all their taste buds surgically removed because while I’ve still got a pulse, we won’t be trying that again.

The moral in the story?

If something works, don’t try to fix it.

So, next time you want to “refresh” a website or piece of marketing collateral is it because YOU are tired of IT or is it genuinely not delivering the results it should?

Far better to check the stats first and then decide before you unwittingly change a winning recipe.

If you’d like to jump on a call for a quick chat on anything you think needs a quick refresh in your business, I’d love to hear from you.

Stay safe.
