I think I’ll have the vegetarian option …

On Wednesday, September 18th the Scandinavian Airlines flight to Malaga lifted gently off Oslo’s Gardermoen airport tarmac and roared into the sky.

Ahead lay a 4-hour 5-minute flight which would surely be as uneventful as ever, and the cabin crew quickly got ready to cremate the in-flight meals for their hungry passengers.

Back in cattle class, passenger Jarle Borrestad had quietly been minding his own business anticipating, no doubt, his own culinary delight as the super-hot box of food was handed to him.

Unfortunately, that’s as far as he got.

Because the lady sitting next to him had a nasty little surprise in store.

As she raised the lid of her meal a mouse leapt out and scampered onto the floor.

Once the hoo-ha had died down and passengers had stowed their parachutes the pilot cooly diverted to Copenhagen where everyone was switched to a replacement aircraft.

There were no reports of the enquiry’s outcome but one would have hoped they’d taken a close look at how well the aircraft’s ovens were working.

For the mouse to hop out and leg it faster than Usain Bolt at full tilt suggests all was not well on the oven front.

Who knows, maybe it was the vegetarian salad option?

The moral in the story?

No one likes nasty surprises.

Which is why we go to great lengths to detail ALL aspects of your job up front and don’t have any sneaky extras – because everything is included. Guaranteed.

Have a great week.
