Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics
There are three types of lies: lies, damn lies and statistics – so said Benjamin Disraeli.
But then, he hadn’t heard about Google Analytics.
Packed full of stats and overflowing with real-world information your first dip into Analytics can be a bit daunting.
But there’s no need to wrap a hot towel around your head and retreat to a quiet corner to cry.
There may be some pretty turgid stuff in there but there are also likely to be one or two little gems of information too.
It doesn’t matter what business you are in.
Large or small, busy during the pandemic or not; Analytics is packed full of information that you never even knew existed.
Not only is it free but it’s right under your nose and it’ll show you what’s working. And … more importantly, what’s not.
If you nothing else this week, a few quiet moments digging around in there is sure to reveal a whole lot more about your website than you ever thought possible.
But first, a word of warning.
Try to take it all in in one go is likely to give you a nasty dose of mental indigestion.
How do you eat an elephant?
One bite at a time – or so the saying goes.
And Google Analytics is no exception.
Take it one step at a time and you are in for an enlightening journey.
Food for thought, perhaps, this week?
But for now, …
If you want a sounding board or just want to bend my ear, I’m on hand for a chat about anything to do with Print or Web Design.
Stay safe.
