Orf with the offender’s head …
On Saturday the 6th of May, King Charles was crowned at Westminster Abbey.
The service began at 11am that morning and he was officially crowned at mid-day in a ceremony watched by millions across the globe.
The problem was that no one thought it prudent to inform the marketing department at Highgrove House, King Charles’ private residence in Gloucestershire.
Whilst some 20.4 million people in the UK tuned in to watch events unfold in the Abbey His Royal Highness Prince Charles’ status was quietly and efficiently updated to that of Sovereign.
But not so at Highgrove.
Because nearly three months on his watercolour notelets are still on sale online under his old title, HRH The Prince of Wales.
Will heads roll we might wonder?
As amusing at this might be we’ve all got promotional collateral which needs updating.
Whether it’s the humblest promotional leaflet right up to key pages on your website there will be important information which needs bringing up to date.
But who’s got the master files, the digital originals, and the login credentials?
Scattered far and wide, in all probability, and needing a sleuth with the nose and cunning of Sherlock Holmes to track them down.
These things tend not to be important until they suddenly are.
Your digital IP is more important than that and needs careful curating.

Until next time.
